Sarah Gardiner

Sarah is an intern in our Athens office and is on track to graduate from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Georgia this spring. She grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, but came south for the SEC college experience.

Being joining us, Sarah completed other marketing and PR internships, focusing on social media for the Georgia River Network, public relations for Athens-Ben Epps Airport and media relations for Talking Dog Agency.

Writing is one of her strong suits. She comes to JS with experience as a weekly contributor for the Red & Black, UGA’s student newspaper, and for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). She’s also a fledgling novelist, having completed a 50,000-word page-turner that she wrote as part of National Novel Writing Month—also known as NaNoWriMo.

During her freshman year, Sarah played on UGA’s lacrosse team, but she began teaching indoor cycling lessons her sophomore year. She also enjoys stand-up paddle boarding when she can get to a lake or ocean.

In 2019, Sarah lived with a host family in Seville, Spain, while she studied Advanced Spanish and accrued credits toward her minor. She no longer considers herself proficient conversationally, but she’s still pretty fluent when it comes to reading and writing in Spanish.
