Sarah took a circuitous route to the public relations and marketing world, but our team is richer for it. She’s a LEED-certified project engineer who worked for two years in construction management before realizing that her right-brain was calling her to actively use her writing and visual design skills. She describes herself as an even balance of both ways of thinking, but we’re glad the right brain won out.
While at HITT Contracting, Inc. she supported build-out projects for Spanx, Deloitte and Marsh, managing budgets, subcontractors and client communications. She later worked for Architect Linda MacArthur and Studio Entourage Architectural Interiors, managing a variety of activities from accounting to marketing and web design. At Jackson Spalding, she contributes those skills and more for her main client, Toyota Motor Sales.
Sarah earned a B.S. in Building Construction from Georgia Tech and later earned a Master of Arts in Communication from Georgia State University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and earning two Excellence in Research awards. Her thesis focused on environmental communications, merging her interests in public relations, visual design and sustainability. Sarah stays connected to Georgia Tech as a student mentor and guest speaker and maintains ties to Georgia State as an Urban Fellow for the College of Law.
Sarah worked a few jobs while in graduate school, including a stint at Atlanta Magazine as an editorial intern and as a freelance copywriter for Gilt City Atlanta, a division of Gilt Groupe.
A native of Roswell, Ga., she now lives in Chamblee, a central location for her work and that of her husband, Tom, who works as a manufacturing engineer for Alcon Laboratories in Johns Creek. The newlyweds enjoy cooking together, playing tennis, hiking in local parks and cheering on their beloved Yellow Jackets. They recently moved into a mid-century modern home and hope to spend the next few years refurbishing it room-by-room.
Sarah’s an intrepid comedy club and concert-goer with more than 300 performances under her belt so far. She says all music genres are represented on the soundtrack of her life.
