Michael, or Mike, whichever you prefer to call him, is the conceptual lead/copywriter at Jackson Spalding. Before joining JS, Michael worked for a variety of global agencies: FCB, Campbell-Ewald, BBDO, GTB, and Publicis Groupe.

Michael started his career in advertising as a traffic coordinator at FCB Detroit. After a year of doing what he describes as, “The toughest job in the history of labor,” he was promoted to junior writer. From there, he would go on to create award-winning work for some of the biggest brands in the world: Harley-Davidson, U.S. Navy, Valentine Vodka, U.S. Postal Service, Michelin, OnStar, Chevrolet, Ford, Chrysler, Jeep, FIAT, and Dodge. His work has been recognized by The One Show, Radio Mercury Awards, ADDYs, Mobius, Communication Arts, and Kelly.

A proud Detroit, Mich. native, Michael earned his bachelor’s from Eastern Michigan University, majoring in communication with a minor in fine art. Although he would be the first to admit that there’s nothing fine about his art — it’s more of a valiant attempt.

When Michael is not concepting big ideas for our clients, you can find him spending time with his family, wrenching on one of his many basket case motorcycles, or trying to explain to his mom what he does for a living.
