Kaylin Knopp

Kaylin has a passion for storytelling and creating meaningful experiences through communication, collaboration, and digital media. With her low-drama, high-momentum, creative-can-do-whatever-it-takes attitude, she has fit in perfectly at JS.

Taking a unique route into the agency world, Kaylin started her career working as an instructor at James Madison University where she taught communication and public speaking courses. She joined JS’s PR team in June 2022, mainly supporting our Chick-fil-A and Shepherd Center accounts; however, she also is a member of our coaching team and contributes her writing skills across the agency.

A proud “Double Duke,” Kaylin graduated summa cum laude from JMU, with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a double minor in Writing and Humanitarian Affairs. During her junior year, Kaylin spent a month in Ireland, where she studied the relationship between conflict and communication and was able to learn valuable skills that she uses on her accounts daily. Throughout her college career, Kaylin also held multiple part-time positions such as an administrative assistant, writing tutor, communications consultant, and a contributing columnist for JMU’s student newspaper.

Shortly after graduation, she received an offer she couldn’t refuse, bringing her back to her alma mater to earn a master’s degree in Strategic Communication and Advocacy. While in grad school, Kaylin also completed a year-long public relations internship with a local education non-profit, helping them expand their organization to a second school district through research, copywriting and digital efforts.

As a newer Atlantean, Kaylin spends her free time exploring the big city with her husband, hunting for the perfect street taco and margarita. When she’s not out on the town, you can find her hosting a game night with friends and curating the perfect cheeseboard.
