Jonathan’s last name rhymes with fuel, and that’s just what he’s brought to Jackson Spalding since he arrived as a freelance video producer in 2011. We were so excited about his talent and personality that we made his employment “official” after extending his contract twice.
He honed his art working for three years as both Head Network Editor and Lead Producer for Egan Entertainment, a company that produces travel and sports-oriented videos around the world. One of the youngest television-credited producers out there, his work has aired on The Discovery Channel, Country Music Television, and The Outdoor Channel and has taken him to dozens of locations in the U.S., Canada, Europe and South America. Past clients include the U.S. Olympic Sailing Team, the Canadian Alpine Ski Team, Comcast and Sprint, to name a few.
Jonathan graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Film and Television Production. His interest in life behind the lens began in his hometown of Concord, N.H. when a promising baseball career was cut short by an elbow injury. He redirected his hand-eye coordination to the high school film club and the rest is now history.
Jonathan’s creative confidence, attention to detail and stylistic approach likely are rooted in the discipline he developed playing violin, practicing his throw and soaking up the wisdom of Yankee ingenuity in New England. Those traits have been recognized with professional honors including two awards for short films from the S.N.O.B. (slightly north of Boston) film festival.
Away from the camera, Jonathan is our resident triviameister, posing random questions for our weekly entertainment. He loves watching Tom Brady’s “wicked awesome” touchdown passes and buys at least one thing per week from Amazon.com.
