Emily joined Jackson Spalding in March of 2017, quickly fulfilling her New Year’s Resolution to move to Atlanta after four years of agency work in her hometown of Tallahassee, Fla. She contributes to several of our client teams, including Perdue Farms and Primrose Schools.
Her multi-faceted experience includes almost two years managing a public affairs campaign for Florida’s Alliance for School Choice, which involved non-stop strategy, large-scale event management, video production and fast-paced media relations as the subject became a political football. She began her career in Washington, D.C., focusing on business-to-business accounts for the likes of Citrix, Oracle, IBM and General Dynamics, and considers issues management among her core competencies.
Emily earned a B.S. in Telecommunication and News from the University of Florida, where she served two terms as a student senator. On track for a career in broadcast journalism, she quickly determined that advocacy suited her better, after a summer internship at an integrated communications firm.
Her interests lean toward arts and crafts and cooking, as evidenced by the sewing machine and kitchen gadgets claiming prime closet real estate in her Midtown apartment. Her favorite D.C. memory includes a ticket to President Obama’s second inauguration, and she might be the only JSer with a personalized NASA suit. Just don’t call her a space queen – you’ll be way off base.
