Courtney is a member of our Delta Air Lines team, working on community affairs and SkyMiles program special events. She played a key role in the launch of the Delta Flight Museum, working onsite for several weeks on a variety of projects ranging from website content to store merchandising while interning for our firm.
She also scored a prestigious internship with The Weather Channel’s Corporate Communications team and did so well that they kept her on contract for seven months. Her experiences there, including issues management, media pitching, customer communications and event coordination, were a perfect stepping stone to her current responsibilities.
A native of Georgetown, Ky., Courtney earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Kentucky (UK) where she graduated magna cum laude. She attended on a Gymnastics Scholarship and served as the Wildcats’ manager, working 20 hours a week supporting the team and traveling to meets as far away as Alaska.
Courtney was a competitive gymnast from preschool through high school, but benched herself after three surgeries for injuries to her knee and elbow. That experience may have inspired her interest in nursing, which she pursued for three years at UK before having a change of heart. It’s good to know we have a medic on staff if we ever need her.
When she’s not at work, Courtney enjoys unwinding with a good book or TV show. Her bucket list includes learning French and traveling to Europe to trace her Swiss-Irish roots. Genealogy is a big deal in her family and as far as we know she’s the only JSer who can prove her ancestors actually arrived here on The Mayflower.
