Jackson Spalding Co-creates Development Summit for Nonprofits

ATLANTA (February 21, 2014) – Jackson Spalding partnered last fall with a group of professional services firms to form a unique development summit for nonprofit organizations. Dubbed Elevate U, the program helps organizations hone their ability to build relationships and fundraise in a thoughtful and effective way.

The inaugural class of 15 nonprofits first convened in October 2013. The group will meet again in March 2014 to continue the training. Elevate U’s initial participants reflected a cross-section of metro Atlanta’s nonprofit community, including Boys & Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, Georgia Conservancy, Grady Health Foundation, American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels Atlanta, Southface, The Woodruff Arts Center, Habitat for Humanity International and CARE International.

“This was a remarkable experience from the initial conversation with our fellow founding partners to the resounding positivity and energy that permeated throughout the room after the second day of the Elevate U summit,” said Glen Jackson, co-founder and partner at Jackson Spalding. “We are honored to be the communications, marketing and branding partner of Elevate U.”

Elevate U is limited to the CEO and development director from each organization. It is a collaborative effort between King & Spalding, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), EY, Bunnell Idea Group and Jackson Spalding. These firms made an in-kind investment to launch and sustain Elevate U. All five companies remain committed to the long-term success of these Atlanta-based nonprofits, their missions and the potential for positive change in the community.
