Inaugural PR Prayer Breakfast Held Nov. 14

11Alive News Anchor Brenda Wood Delivered Keynote Speech, Third Day Performed at Inaugural Interfaith Event for Public Relations Professionals

ATLANTA (Nov. 19, 2007) - Atlanta's first interfaith prayer breakfast for public relations and corporate communications professionals was held on Nov. 14 at the Ballroom at Twelve Atlantic Station in Midtown. Brenda Wood, anchor of 11Alive News, was the event's special guest speaker, and Atlanta-based, Grammy-winning rock band Third Day played three songs at the event.

The Atlanta Public Relations Interfaith Prayer Breakfast was organized to promote fellowship among professionals in the Atlanta metro area, which is home to a large, active PR/corporate communications industry.

"The Atlanta Public Relations Interfaith Prayer Breakfast united the local PR and corporate communications community and provided an opportunity for fellowship," said Glen Jackson, chairman of the PR prayer breakfast organizing committee and principal at Jackson Spalding. "The level of interest and support from Atlanta's PR and business communities was very high."

Many of Atlanta's largest companies and PR agencies worked together to organize the prayer breakfast. Representatives from The Coca-Cola Co., UPS, Ogilvy, Jackson Spalding, William Mills Agency, The DeMoss Group, Manning, Selvage & Lee and Edelman served on the organizing committee. Representatives from several of the companies participated in the breakfast. In addition, Home Depot's chief diversity officer, Gloria Johnson Goins, delivered the community prayer.

The Atlanta Youth Academy Choir also sang a song with Third Day.

Proceeds from the event were used to make a $5,000 donation to World Vision in honor of Third Day's involvement in their programs in Africa.
