Jackson Spalding Hires Bari Love
Expands JS Creative with Media Planning Department

Firm continues growth with six additional hires

ATLANTA (January 25, 2007) — Bari Love, one of the most respected public relations executives in the Southeast, has joined Jackson Spalding, the Atlanta-based image creation, cultivation and communications firm announced today.

Jackson Spalding, which recently doubled its space with a move to the 1100 Peachtree Building, also announced five new members of the firm in addition to Ms. Love: Ashlea Caplinger, Charlotte Marie DuPre, Megan Jentz, Laura Hudson Lee and Anne Waters.

Ms. Love’s experience includes serving as managing director for the Atlanta office of Ogilvy Worldwide Public Relations, where she led strategic counsel for The Brand Atlanta Campaign, Steifel Laboratories, Lipton, Burger King and Carolinas Healthcare.

She also was executive vice president of Fletcher Martin Ewing, Atlanta, and president of the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Most recently, she served as interim vice president of community engagement at the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta.

“We have added some of the best talent in the business, at different levels of experience and with a variety of client service skills,” said Bo Spalding, a principal of the firm. “We are excited about the contributions they will make to our clients, our firm and their own careers.”

JS Creative Expands with Experienced Media Planner

Laura Hudson Lee will serve as a media buyer for JS Creative, which provides marketing services in naming, corporate identity, graphic design, advertising creative and placement, website design and multimedia production. She will research, negotiate and manage advertising buys as well as support brand and re-launch initiatives. JS Creative is led by Mart Martin, who joined Jackson Spalding last year after 20 years of branding experience at The Coca-Cola Company.

Ms. Lee spent several years with Fitzgerald & Company, where she was a senior media planner working on behalf of Cryovac, Quikrete and Southern Company. She also spent two years at another local agency where she focused on media buying for clients in the travel and construction sectors.

“With Laura here, we have the ability to both design and execute advertising programs for our clients, helping to satisfy their desire for a full-service agency,” says Glen Jackson, co-principal.

Caplinger, DuPre, Jentz and Waters add Breadth, Depth to Client Service

Ashlea Caplinger joins Jackson Spalding after spending a year as a senior account manager of Alexander Gallo & Associates. She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Alabama. Charlotte Marie DuPre interned with Jackson Spalding in 2003 and returns after graduating magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University in 2006 and working briefly for another Atlanta public relations firm.

Megan Jentz most recently was in the communications department at the Yerkes National Primate Research Center at Emory University, and also worked at Emory’s Winship Cancer Institute. Anne Waters has strong civic and community relations experience after serving as communications coordinator for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Both Ms. Jentz and Ms. Waters are graduates of the University of Georgia.

Love adds Experience, Leadership

“The chance to work for a fast-track, full-service agency again was extremely appealing,” said Love. “At Jackson Spalding, we have the brainpower and creativity of a national firm but can enjoy being nimble and entrepreneurial as an independent agency. I am excited to see what the future holds for us.”

Love has an extensive background in integrated marketing communications, brand development, community relations, crisis communications/issues development and grass roots marketing. Over the past 20 years, she has worked with a diverse group of clients, including The Georgia Cancer Coalition/DHR Cancer Awareness Campaign, Sprint PCS, Washington Mutual Bank, Cellular South, Piccadilly Cafeterias, Precept, ChoicePoint, BioLab, National Distributing Company, Atlanta Gas Light and The RTM Restaurant Group.

“Bari understands our community extremely well because she’s been so deeply involved in its civic and charitable life,” Bo Spalding said. “This experience, combined with her strategic approach, corporate public relations background and tireless work ethic, make her a huge asset to her clients and a great mentor to those she works with.”
