Brian Steely
Although his family has a rich history in the newspaper business, Brian Steely elected to pursue a career on the visual side of communications as a founding member of JS Creative. He joined our firm in 1997 and has developed logos, brochures, presentations, annual reports, posters, ads, booth graphics and newsletters for various clients using Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PowerPoint and Quark XPress. He also has created Web sites using Fireworks and Dreamweaver.
Brian is a native Atlantan and graduate of Pace Academy. He studied English and Philosophy at Presbyterian College, where he wrote for The Blue Stocking, the student newspaper, and Figs and Thistles, the college’s literary magazine.
He went on to attend The Portfolio Center, where his work won the school’s “Best of Show” award during his second quarter. Samples of his work have been published in CMYK design magazine. Brian’s portfolio also includes examples of his freehand skills in concert posters commissioned by the rock band Widespread Panic and artwork for the Steve Kimock Band.
Brian and his wife Sarah live in East Atlanta with their two children, Stella and Dylan. They like to spend their weekends at the lake with their two dogs, Gideon and Lucinda. In case you can’t tell from his dogs’ names, Brian is an ardent fan of folk, bluegrass, and alt-country music. He spends his spare time recording the live performances of his favorite musicians and learning new bluegrass songs on his mandolin.
