Bo Spalding

BO SPALDING

Bo Spalding's career began at The Atlanta Journal, where he covered government and business. In 1982, he joined Bank South Corporation in Atlanta. As senior vice president and director of public affairs and communications he was responsible for internal communications, media relations, investor relations, sponsorships and corporate philanthropy.

He co-founded Jackson Spalding in 1995. In addition to his management role at the firm, he works closely with clients, with special expertise in financial and banking services, speech writing and media, marketing and corporate identity strategies.

An Atlanta native, Bo is a trustee of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation, Agnes Scott College, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home and the Kiwanis Club of Atlanta Foundation.  He is a director of Catholic Charities, the YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta and the Midtown Alliance, and is also a member of the Leadership DeKalb Class of 2009 and the Piedmont Park Conservancy Capital Campaign Steering Committee.  He is a past president of the 250-member Kiwanis Club of Atlanta.

Bo holds a bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown University, as well as a bachelor's in Journalism and a master's in Business Administration from the University
of Georgia.

Bo lives in Decatur with his wife, Melissa.  They have three children: Daniel, Phinizy and Camille. A train enthusiast, Bo has been known to fly cross-country just to hop on a train and come home.  He also enjoys running, movies, reading, music, skiing, eating popcorn, and spending part of his summer on a peaceful Canadian lake.
