Tom Hinson

Tom joined our JS Creative team in 2007 after 15 years of wide-ranging design experience including healthcare and financial services. Most recently he was a Senior Graphic Design Specialist at Saint Joseph’s Hospital where he designed and produced an award-winning book, “Hope and Healing” commemorating the institution’s 125th anniversary. Prior to that he was Manager of Graphic Design at Prudential Financial where he focused heavily on employee communications, including the creation of a highly-utilized intranet.

Before finding his true calling in design, Tom had a successful career in commissioned sales — giving him insight that is not lost on many of our entrepreneurial clients.

When looking at his portfolio, it’s hard to imagine that Tom is a self-taught designer. But, it speaks volumes about his God-given talent and his passion for excellence in design. He stays fluent with traditional design software, but typically you’ll find him crafting Web sites in Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash.

A self-proclaimed web standards evangelist, Tom generously applies expertise in CSS, XHTML and Javascript, creating sites for our clients that are visually appealing, easy to maintain and search-engine friendly.

One day, he envisions designing something entirely different — custom furniture. In a sense, that would take him full-circle to the early part of his career, managing a family furniture store. Tom also really loves photography, although he rarely finds time to devote to it.

Today, his time away from work is spent with his family, including his wife Sherri, three sons and a daughter. His family makes their home in Lilburn, coincidentally just a couple of miles from the neighborhood where Tom grew up.
