Ashley Harp
Ashley has been honing her award-winning writing style since childhood when she would escape to her imaginary world and journal up a storm. We are glad to have her creative talent under our Athens tent, where she supports both public relations and advertising clients.
Prior to joining our firm she spent almost six years at Talk PR, Inc., a full-service agency based in Wilmington, N.C. While there, she gained experience in everything from media buying to event planning, eventually landing the role of Creative Director. She earned the National Silver Microphone Award for a radio jingle she helped produce for Wilmington’s public transit system, and also has ADDYs and awards from the Raleigh PR Society in her trophy collection.
Ashley graduated summa cum laude from Berry College, where she majored in Communications and minored in Creative Writing, English and Theatre. The high point of her college career was apprenticing with June Spence, a fiction author who encouraged her to pursue a graduate degree in Creative Writing. Ashley received an Alpha Chi Benedict Fellowship, which paved the way for her Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
She is happy to be back home in Watkinsville, where she gets together often with her close-knit family, often testing her photo skills on her nephew, Dillon or her cat, Kudzu. Ashley is a connoisseur of food and fine pottery, and is mad about Harry… Potter that is. If she could teleport anywhere, it would be to London for tea with J.K. Rowling, whom she views as a brilliant storyteller.
