Tom is our Chief Financial Officer who ensures that our financial foundation is strong and fortified as we continue to grow. He proudly says he is a “business builder and problem solver” and we can confirm that he does not have the old school “green eyeshade” accounting mentality, which makes him a great fit for our high energy, relationship-friendly firm.
He came to Jackson Spalding after more than 25 years of financial and operations experience with public, private equity and closely-held ownership structures. His career, which began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, has centered on professional services including healthcare, information technology, public safety, travel, energy and insurance. Most recently, he has held CFO and COO positions and has been a consultant for entrepreneurial businesses that he helped guide through expansion.
Tom graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania. He grew up in New Jersey and spent the early part of his career working within commuting distance of The Big Apple until moving to Atlanta in 2003.
When he’s not crunching numbers, Tom enjoys spending time with his wife Maria, daughters Erica and Gabriella, and their yellow Labrador Liam or is probably engaged in some sort of athletic activity. He’s a certified personal trainer and a professionally licensed soccer coach who devotes several days a week to coaching his daughters’ teams.
His family lives in Milton, Ga., about an hour north of Atlanta. He considers landscaping and lawn maintenance as his weekend hobby and says he’s solved most of his most vexing business problems while operating one of his specialty mowers.
