Katie knew she wanted a career in writing and design ever since she edited her high school newspaper in Macon, Ga. She landed on the agency side of things after exploring a number of internships that focused on journalism, fundraising and public relations. As a passionate crusader for children, she is delighted to contribute 100 percent of her time on our Primrose Schools team, advancing their mission to forge a path that leads to a brighter future for all children.
Prior to joining us, Katie was a regular contributor to the Jones County News, writing stories about individuals and organizations in her hometown. She also served as Communications Director for Camp Grace, a ministry that seeks to transform the lives of underserved, urban youth through an overnight summer camp experience.
A magna cum laude graduate of The University of Georgia, Katie earned bachelor’s degrees in both Public Relations and Religion. While in school, she stayed active as the Events Chair of Reformed University Fellowship and as a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America. She was selected as one of five seniors to compete on UGA’s PRSSA Bateman Competition Team, which placed among the top national competitors for its plan to raise awareness about affordable housing issues in Athens, Ga.
During college, Katie completed five internships in public affairs and public relations. She was especially thankful for the time she spent designing digital media for Special Olympics of Jones County, an organization that provides community for her younger brother, an athlete with Down syndrome.
When she’s not reading or writing, Katie loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys hiking and hopes to run her first 10K in the near future.
