Angela Giles

Angela exudes a quiet confidence that serves her well as she provides the day-to-day counsel for Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta and supports strategy for Perdue Farms. She joined us on a quest to round out her skillset after time spent in both the corporate and non-profit sectors of our industry.

She is an accomplished media maven following three years handling media relations for Habitat for Humanity International. There, Angela trained spokespersons, secured media placements for national events and programs, and handled a variety of crisis-related issues for local Habitat organizations across the U.S. A personal highlight was managing the press corps during Habitat’s 33rd Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, marking President Carter’s triumphant return to the program following treatment for brain cancer.

Earlier, Angela worked as an Internal Communications Coordinator at Newell Rubbermaid, conceptualizing the company’s first-ever Global Day of Service social media campaign for employees. During college, she landed a 10-month internship as an online reporter for The Young, Black, and Fabulous (The YBF), which allowed her to elbow her way to dozens of celebrity interviews. Other internships included public relations and marketing support for Travel Channel and Carol’s Daughter, an all-natural hair and skincare brand.

A lifelong resident of Alexandria, Va., Angela began her college career as a broadcast journalism major at Clark Atlanta University. She received a B.A. in Communication with a concentration in Public Relations from George Mason University, after earning a number of grants that beckoned her closer to home.

Today she lives in Vinings, Ga., but says she will travel all over to explore foodie spots. With half of her gene pool hailing from Somali, she hopes to visit the horn of Africa one day to get a taste of her heritage.
