Andy has always enjoyed “diving into somebody else’s story.” We’re sure glad she plunged headfirst into ours when she joined our marketing and business development team in 2014. Andy brings a clever twist and a gracious attitude to everything she does to support the JS brand, including managing new sales opportunities, content marketing, social media and events.
She graduated, summa cum laude, with a B.A. in Mass Communication, from Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. While there, she served on the executive board for the local chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), a member of Lambda Pi Eta Communication Honor Society, and was co-director of Spectrum PR, the student-run, not-for-profit public relations firm. Her team supported the National MS Society, developing a marketing campaign that pulled in more than $28,000 for a local fundraising walk. She was also on the staff of the WGUR university radio station, and GCSU’s award-winning newspaper, The Colonnade, earning kudos as a section editor and as social media manager.
Andy is probably the only person at JS who can say that she reported to a 3-Star General. She did this while interning at Georgia Military College, a private school where the Lieutenant General now serves as president. This experience gave her exposure to executive communications, media relations, and overall brand strategy, which she references often in her work today.
Although she is happiest when curled up watching a movie, or with a great book in a coffee shop, Andy is no stranger to athletics. She claims winning a softball championship, being undefeated in doubles and competing in every swimming stroke among her youthful accomplishments. Today, she favors yoga and walking the Atlanta BeltLine, but is also known to out-bounce everyone on a pogo-stick.
