KATHERINE STRATE

Katherine joined our team in late 2009 following extended internships in our Athens and Atlanta offices. Her versatile skills and confident enthusiasm contribute significantly to accounts large and small.

A graduate of The University of Georgia, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from The Grady College and a certificate from the Terry College Institute for Leadership Advancement. Her bent for leadership landed her several distinctions during her time in Athens. She received the Gold Key Award as an outstanding member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, after serving for two years on the Executive Board, and The Caroline Burson Thrasher award as the most active freshman in Pi Beta Phi sorority. The Arch Society selected her as an official campus ambassador her senior year, an experience that crystallized her passion for service and working with others.

Prolific with social media, Katherine authored “Dawg Food,” a tasty blog about Athens-area restaurants that included original podcasts, video and photography. She later wrote a three-part series on social media for her hometown newspaper, The Citizen Tribune, in Morristown, TN. While interning at the University of Georgia’s Development office she used this online agility to develop a blueprint for fund-raising among young alumni. She hopes to build on this model with other not-for-profit clients.

Katherine was recently selected as the youngest member ever of the Grady Society Alumni Board. She also is active with Friends of the Atlanta Youth Academy. One of her proudest accomplishments to date is her completion of the Breast Cancer 3-Day walk, benefitting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Joined by her mother and younger sister, she raised more than $16,000 toward the “race for the cure.”
