MATT SCOFIELD

Matt joined our firm in 2011 after four years as a Senior Account Executive at a well-respected boutique agency in town. His broad range of experience covers media relations, crisis work, executive positioning, event planning and social media.

At Jackson Spalding, Matt currently supports business-to-business and real estate clients.

His past work garnered accolades, including a 2008 Golden Flame Award from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) for “Comcast Cares Day,” a community relations event, and a 2010 Silver Anvil Certificate of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for a program supporting Cartoon Network’s “Get Animated” campaign, as a part of National Recess Week. The latter also resulted in a Guinness Book of World Records listing for the largest simultaneous four square game with more than 3,000 students participating in this playground classic across the United States.

Matt locked onto communication as a career goal while serving as the television news anchor for GNN at Atlanta’s Grady High. He went on to The University of Georgia, where he graduated, summa cum laude, from the Grady College of Communication with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Sociology.

He describes himself as “confidently persistent,” a trait that often results in ink for his clients with agenda-setting news outlets such as Forbes, CNN, Fortune and CNBC.

Matt lives in Virginia-Highlands, where he makes time for sports and outdoor activities with friends and hanging out with Val, his terrier-lab mix.
