WELLS COLLINS

Wells is a Website designer in our JS Creative Group. He joined us just two weeks after college graduation and has been indispensible ever since, thanks to his graphic design and Web development skills.

He earned a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Georgia (UGA) and furthered his coursework through UGA’s School of the Arts in Cortona, Italy. He is proficient with a variety of programs including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.

The die was cast for his vocation early on when his kindergarten teacher asked him to teach art to his classmates. From then on, Wells continued to excel in visual arts and attended a magnet school for the arts during middle school. By college he knew that digital was his medium, despite recognition for his painting and illustration.

Wells, whose formal name is Edward Colwell Collins IV, was awarded the Cliff Chandler Scholarship for Graphic Design during his senior year. His work also was selected by faculty for a Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) show and for the Summer Studies Exit Show in Cortona. During college he served as a graphic design intern at Charleston Magazine and also provided pro bono design work for Terrapin Beer Company, among others.

A native of Sullivan Island, just outside of Charleston, S.C., Wells is a passionate longboarder. In fact, his final graphic design project involved not only branding a longboard company, but also building seven boards from scratch with Russian Birch plywood. He and his fellow JS Creative compadres are known to surf our hallways the closer it gets to Friday. He also has recently picked up camping as a hobby, which suits his “hakuna matata” personality.
