SOCIAL MEDIA TAKES OFF AT DELTA

Delta’s Corporate Communications and Marketing departments recognize that travel is one of the most popular topics in the social media realm. They enlisted Jackson Spalding to help monitor and communicate to the airline’s core audiences via new media channels.
Strategy/Implementation:
One of the first steps in any social media campaign is to monitor and digest what is said about your brand, and Jackson Spalding has done this for Delta. We reviewed and reacted to relevant message boards, Web sites, blogs and Twitter, and sent a detailed report to more than 25 Delta employees daily.
We also help Delta engage and interact with customers and key social media influencers. We have invited bloggers to attend and blog from milestone events, such as Delta’s emergence from bankruptcy. We have also written numerous posts for Delta’s “Under the Wing” blog and coordinated other posts that appeared on popular aviation and travel blogs.
In addition, we filmed and produced a video that features Delta’s VP of the SkyMiles program discussing upcoming changes to the frequent flyer program. This video was posted on YouTube.com, Delta’s blog and was e-mailed to millions of SkyMiles members to help them understand how to more easily redeem miles for Award Travel.
