ATLANTA (July 15, 2014) – Jackson Spalding has named Whitney Ott the seventh member of its ownership group, citing her expertise, dedication and leadership throughout more than a decade with the firm.
“We could not be more excited to welcome Whitney as an owner,” said Jackson Spalding Co-Founder Bo Spalding. “Whitney joined us early in our journey as an independent firm, and every day is another reminder of how fortunate we are that she did.”
Spalding added that Whitney’s expertise in client messaging, coaching, consumer media relations and other marketing communications disciplines have served clients extremely well. “But it’s her steadfast work ethic and loyalty to our vision, mission and values that make her a model example of what it means to be “a JSer,” he said.
Whitney’s experience includes leading major projects such as The Coca-Cola Company’s 125th Anniversary Celebration and Move of the Secret Formula and Orkin’s “Fight the Bite” cause marketing campaign in partnership with the United Nations Foundation’s “Nothing but Nets” mosquito-borne illness initiative. “Fight the Bite” attracted more than 40 million media impressions, and won two Public Relations Society of America’s Georgia Phoenix awards. In addition to managing the firm’s overall Coca-Cola account team and business, Whitney also works on franchise development communications for Primrose Schools.
“I started as an intern, working on nine separate accounts, with the goal of establishing a challenging career that I wanted to wake up to every day,” Whitney said. “I love learning, and learn something new here every day. That hasn’t changed in 11 years.”
Whitney serves on Jackson Spalding’s Management Team and will now join six of her fellow colleagues as an owner on the Executive Team, including Glen Jackson, Bo Spalding, Brian Brodrick, Randall Kirsch, Trudy Kremer and Eric O’Brien. She currently leads the development and implementation of “Advance 2020,” the company’s five-year strategic plan, and was previously chair of the JS Learning team. Whitney leverages her leadership skills to benefit professional organizations as well, including the Rotary Club of Buckhead and previously the American Marketing Association.
