Glen Jackson to be Keynote Speaker at AdLib Conference at Washington and Lee University

ATLANTA (Feb. 26, 2013) – Glen Jackson, co-founder and partner at Jackson Spalding, will deliver the keynote address at the annual Advertising and Liberal Arts (AdLib) Conference at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. on Thursday, February 28, 2013.

Glen (class of 1985) will speak on the changing and unchanging landscape of public relations, marketing, advertising and communications as a whole.

“There’s a strong convergence and blurring of lines between what were previously viewed as separate disciplines,” says Jackson. “In our own firm, we are constantly pulling from best practices and seeing how they could be applied in new ways in new areas.  However, there are some things that remain unchanged over the past 50 years including the importance of relationships, personal integrity and continuous education.”

The AdLib Conference was started by Washington and Lee University professor Amanda Bower in W&L’s business-focused Williams School with the intent to emphasize the relationship between liberal arts and advertising. Additionally, she played a leadership role in crafting the revision of W&L’s business major, strategically integrating liberal arts courses into the curriculum.

Washington and Lee University has had a profound impact on Jackson, being the place where he met his wife Claire and it continues shape his leadership style as he serves on the advisory board for the business school. He has invited some of his former professors to attend the keynote address as well.
